We lost a very young family member. I wrote this to deal with the pain.
Her smile could light
up the darkest room.
Her laughter gave no hint
of the impending doom.

You counted her fingers
you counted her toes.
Every parents safeguard
from all of life's woes.

Her time was so short
spent here on earth.
Barely just moments
from death to birth.

Her absence is felt
so deep in the heart.
The wounds just won't heal
since she's had to part.

She was a gift, an angel
sent here for a spell.
A blessing, a joy,
couldn't you tell?

Not enough time
did she have in this life.
Tomorrow's that won't come
cause pain like a knife.

Remember her fondly
don't shed anymore tears.
Remember the life
she brought to those years.

Relish the joy's
in life's simple things
Then you can smile
for the lesson this brings

She was an angel
she was our teacher
God's little soldier
our very own preacher

Listen closely to her
there is something to learn
When the lesson is over
the heart will still yearn

For love like this
burns ever so bright
The bonds are so strong
they could light up the night

Make her proud
live life with love
Because she's waiting for us
she's just up above.
