The first lyrical song I ever wrote. It's about friendship.
A story of picnics in shaded back yards,
A story of tree-climbers and days of played cards,
A story of stories, ideas and sweet songs,
A story of friendship and days long gone,

A story of bike rides, a story of tales,
Plays never played at, no lemonade sales,
Sunsets in sprinklers, evenings of books,
Midnight gymnastics, odd neighbor's looks,

Summer days gone by,
Three left for new homes,
Two left to cry,
Summer days gone by,
A promise a meeting,
Twenty years to wait,

A bench of scarred memories,
A reason for rhyme,
A summer to live for,
A chance to race time,.

Three a.m. laughter,
Four p.m. tears,
Discussions of futures,
Questions and fears,

Now we are growing up and miles apart,
Two by an ocean, and one by her heart,
The future holds for us, something unseen,
What others will we meet, who share our same dreams?

Summer days gone by,
Three left for new homes,
Two left to cry,
Summer days gone by,
A promise a meeting,
Twenty years to wait.
