Written on a napkin, to an ex, who claimed I didn't love him anymore.
I spoke too soon
The restaurant flooded
by their voices, and
to the room in the back
you quickly showed me
your grand devices.

The wall's afire with
bourbon and whiskey
Too young to touch,
but to dream...?
I do plenty.

The table is sticky,
and beneath the clatter
of cheap dishes
I wonder how such
simple words could convince

That I love you any less.
