I wrote this for school. I'm proud of it, but I don't like it right now.
Where I am from is anguish and despair.
Pain and suffering,
and people who don't care.
I have loved, I have lost,
in many different ways.
Sorrow is the only thing that fills my days.
I was taught respect,
but it was never returned.
From that,
there are many things I have learned.

I don't get praise for being the only straight person in my family,
so I turn to humanity,
when I am melancholy,
but no one seems to want me.
I am alone in this troubled world,
I have nobody.
That is where I am from,
living within me.
