When your life spins out of control and your solid foundation crumples, what’s left?
How can one man sit
with the world on his shoulders
The weight of crushing my hopes,
hiding my dreams.
Others walk by not caring
as tries to grasp
some holding, my heart
searching for stable ground.
I see my friends as they see me
Not understanding, not knowing
the crushing weight I hold.
I put on my mask and smile so bright,
waiting for them to come,
waiting for the pain,
for the villains to cut deep.
Each wound stinging endlessly
as the blood runs freely
from the wounds old and new.
I am almost gone, slowly
Disappearing, fading away
I am weak and needing to be strong.
I can’t let go, not yet.
I dig deep inside
past the wounds and scar.
I try to stand and go
but stumble as I walk.
Tears come to my eyes
Black Tears
Tears of frustration, loss of hope,
revenge, helplessness, and hate
Crying….
The tears keep coming,
growing blacker with every passing moment,
I struggle harder, fighting for
my life, knowing if I stop
The weight Will Kill Me.
I remove my mask and cry out
for help.
I see my friends, many not knowing
what they have done,
and others have helped to heal.
The tears flow freely now
As Villains cut Deep and
Tears Run Black
