In the peaceful town of St. Carmelle,
Were two majestic silver bells.
The holy bells,
The glorious bells,
That rings in the Sunday church it dwells.

When the wedding rite is done,
Both silver bells will ring as one,
Rejoicing rings,
What joy it brings!
As white doves fly with blessed wings.

Were a coffin lowered to its place,
The silver bells clang a soulful pace.
The mournful sound
Echoing 'round
In St. Carmelle, the peaceful town.

In thirty winters in St. Carmelle
Are two, old, broken silver bells.
The holy bells,
The glorious bells,
That once rang for the church it dwells.
