broken and bleeding



WHEELS WITHIN
WHEELS

It was bent
in a most
unbecoming manner.

Watching
as the pain
clutched

upon
her soul,
as she jerked

in rapid sequence.
It makes me think
of how

once upon a time
I laid
upon the slab

broken and bleeding
living within
the cage

of unconsciousness.
Grasping,
groping,

pulling hard
on the vines
that tangled.
