A poem about Domestic Violence
Don’t Ever Tell

"Don’t ever tell", is all you are told.
Over the years your heart becomes cold.
Mind games begin to make you insane...
Enduring all this heartache, the pain.
Standing alone just a face in the crowd.
Trying to speak out but your voice isn’t loud,
Inside, your soul is beginning to die,
Convincing yourself your life’s not a lie.

Violence and insults are only a part,
In time it destroys your soul and your heart
Over and over, just where will it end?
Living in a make believe world you pretend
Everything’s normal and life is just great-
Never showing the fear, anger and hate.
Confidence gone and self esteem shot.
Everything you were, you have now forgot.
