An outlet for my crumbling soul.
This face I show,
The one that seems to be
Calm, collected, and under control,
Is but a mask that I wear
To hide my true self.
I want someone to take it off
But I'm scared to death they will.
Their gaze is my salvation
From a curse I gave myself.
Crumbling under the pressure
Of hiding in plain view,
I don't know how much longer
I can keep from going insane.
I'm scared that if I show myself,
I will be met with contempt,
But sooner or later it will come out
No matter what I do.
Please, take off my mask,
I want you to see
