A short lists of broken promises from when I was younger.
When I was little
I never made a promise I could keep.
I would take out the trash everyday for that new Power Ranger doll.
But that ended after day one.
I’d pay someone back double if they let me borrow their dollar
But in reality they were lucky if they got a dime.
I would say I’d never do anything wrong again if my parents wouldn’t punish me this time
But say the same thing ten minutes later.
I would promise my parents that I would only have one Rice Crispy treat
But I ended up eating the entire box.
On the first day of school I promised my teacher I would always do my homework.
But then forgot to do the first assignment.
But I’m better at keeping promises now.
I promise.
