Another poem inspired by my father....
Don't look at me in such a way;
Your eyes pierce my soul,
Burning right through me,
Lowering me to you.

Don't yell at me in such a way;
Collapsing my lungs,
To which I can't breathe,
Allowing me only to whisper.

Don't lash out at me in such a way;
Threatening and binding me,
Unworthy of your will,
Beating me down to nothingness.

Don't look past me in such a way;
Forevermore, I am your daughter,
Human to all yet a mistake to you,
I beg to exist.
