A sick young girl is dying, but her father's ghost comes and saves her.
Twas the night before Christmas,
And all thorugh the town,
Was a bustle and a hustle,
To get shopping done.
Happiness and cheer,
Was everywhere,
But not in the house of the Millers.

Little Mary-Lou,
Was very sick,
And it looked like it was going to be the end,
Sadness was spread,
They all went to bed,
And Mary-Lou closed her eyes.

Their father had died,
Around two months ago,
And now it looked like the end of her too,
But a voice from the darkness,
Said,"Don't quit baby,
Just keep going on with the fight."

Mary-Lou opened her eyes,
To see her dad standing there,
She threw herself at him,
But went right through him,
He said goodbye and was gone.

Their mama came in,
And said,"I knew you'd win!"
When she saw Mary-Lou standing up.
"Papa was here,"Mary-Lou said with a tear,
He told me not to quit."

Mama said,"Oh, sweetie..."
And sent her right back into bed,
Mary-Lou lay there,
Trying to fix her hair,
But she saw something beside her bed.

She grabbed and it said,
"Look Mama, he was here!"
And showed her the little paper.
It said, "I knew you'd win this battle, Mary-Lou,
That is why I have this gift for you."

Attached was a gift,
Twas a small hankerchief,
With three words stiched in blue.
Those three words were,
"I love you."
