boy talks about how his mother caused his nightmares
The Flames
Water cascades over me
as my ears start to pop
and my heart rate starts to drop
is it something I did
to make you want me dead

The waves wash over me
and I see the light so close
and my god in robes
but you pulled me away
you decided you wanted me to stay

You were my protector and my killer
my mother and a liar
and I don’t hate you
but the life you subjected me to
I don’t hope you die
but I will make you cry

My dreams are scary
as I see a demon with sword
go over my body with words
is it something he said
that made me feel great?
is it the mark on my head
that constitutes your excuses?

in the night I see the flames
that pass over my body
which light my eyes
and keep me mesmerized
the glow of the flame
the dance of the fire
and the black eyes
watching my back
Fire, hot fire
