Sweet prose poem about love in the most unexpected places.
Gentle guitar strumming floats from his room
Nobody knows what he’s about
They call him a rebel, a failure, a punk.
Yet, he ignores it all, when he plays he guitar.

He doesn’t say a word in class
He sits alone at lunch
He drives an old beat up car
But nobody knows this, when he plays his guitar.

They assumed someone else would talk to him
But nobody ever did
So he sits alone at night
Forgetting it all, when he plays his guitar

Graduation day came and he was no where to be found
But nobody noticed
Until he came onstage to make a speech
The entire room falls silent, when he plays his guitar.

You never paid attention to be
You said you would talk to me one day
But you never did
You never asked me what I was about, he says as he plays his guitar.

After, lots of people came up to him
Shaking his hand and congratulating him

But…somebody gave him a hug.

It was his next door neighbor
She said she always loved him, when he played his guitar.

He never noticed her, and so he felt ashamed.
She said she watched him outside her window every night
But she never told him.
He took her hand and held it tight, and she cried when he played his guitar

For her.
