Very short poem. I would love it if you would read and review.
Screams of fear pierced the air.
Smoked billowed into the nighttime sky.
Sirens wailed on without a care.
Flames licked the building,
Destroying from within.
The fire giving an intense heat-the
0nly warmth on the snowy eve.
Children cried for pets unfound.
Adults too numb to speak.
Where would they go?
What would happen now?
A woman sat on her knees,
In the middle of the chaos,
Her hands clasped tight.
She whispered
“Oh Lord, protect us. Please.”
