It's a song, really, but all songwriting is poetry techichally so I'll call it poetry.
(There is one and a half verses and a chorus so far. I can't explain what it's about, it has personal references to me, but it's what you each interpret individually from it that's important.)

The scanner darkens as it portrays my existance
As a dirty sheet of hopless visions
And I hold my head in my hands
As that monotonous sound shatters my conscience
I peer out through the space between my fingers
At the cancerous machine while the vibrationas linger
And I wipe the tears from my face
As the infected weapon opens up the heartache

Oh how do you know it's empty when you won't look inside
The silence disturbed by a friendly kiss goodbye

I have a way with words but you won't let me speak
An iron constitution but you make me weak
And I can smell the pages burn
As the words of Jesus disappear in the smoke
