A poem I wrote a while back... Teenagers' emotions are underestimated.
You've never felt a pain like this,
Where love is at your fingertips,
Yet all that's there is empty air,
A promise... Nothing waiting there.

A love so deep it cannot last,
A heart so broken in the past,
A mind of love and all that's true,
A softly spoken "I love you."

When shadows come take you away,
When darkness shows you lonely ways,
When truth bites hard as frost and snow,
I will be there to help you go.

Waiting for this pain to recede,
Waiting for you to notice me,
Waiting for my love to be known,
Your smile can make my soul go on.

You keep me alive, awake, love,
You keep me from flying above,
You keep me safe in your heart, true
If you loved me, we could be new.

The next times you laugh and smile t'day,
It'll be noticed at least by me,
Last time you cried your heart to sleep,
I knew and saved your soul, I weeped.

For all the times you've loved all else,
But me and my true lonely self,
I care not who you've known before,
For I'll love you forevermore.

You've never felt a pain like this,
Where love is at your fingertips,
Yet all that's there is empty air,
A promise... Nothing waiting there.
