Life in an artificial, concrete jungle of corporate america
Surrounded by strangers, no where to run,
confusion melts from moment to next,
a corporate jungle so tangled and cold,
Surrounded by concrete with no sun.

Trapped in this strange world day to day,
beasts encountered as friend, but are hidden foe,
show no weakness near gleaming teeth,

They wait with sheathed claw,
for one moment of misplaced trust,
then shreds of flesh hang from crimson drenched fang.

Your sacrifice invisible to prey hidden, within the dense brush,
they scurry along a darkened path,
The stench of death only distasteful wisps of THEIR futures told,

The carnage grows more grotesque as starvation reveals,
the beast now within which was once prey,
Nature’s balance betrayed in the artificial jungle,

Is resurrection possible?
What soul will rise against that darkened path?
Knowing salvation lies within other worlds,

Never to be untangled of the endless weeds,
Of your concrete jungle with no sun.
