After riding Satan's Express (previous submission), the lost soul ends up in Hell
I languish in a burning lake of souls, having been torn to pieces again by the resident demons.  Pain is a constant, a given, spiked by periods of unendurable agony.  Escape is unthinkable, eternity unimaginable.  All around me souls sizzle and pop before slowly coalescing so the cycle can be repeated.  Now and again, a screaming soul falls from above into the lake.  A howling, fiery streak ends in a brilliant billow of flame.  Another soul joins this unholy congregation.  Burning and peeling, I slither over my fellow unfortunates, seeking higher ground atop someone else ... just for the briefest moment of blessed relief.

Not that there is anything blessed about this place. It exists as it always had been, in my mind.  Every last detail that I had gleaned from books, bibles and movies has been faithfully replicated here.  The physical details don't do justice to what is felt within.  I had never imagined there could exist such horror and despair.  For a while, I thought the fear had been burned out of me, until the demons came ... wading through the smoke and flames to haphazardly "render" souls.  There are more details, but I don't think they are relevant at this point - you know what I mean.  I wish for rational thought; for some way to explain this existence and my place in it.
I wish I could go insane.
