A mystery Poem- Guess what the creature is???
Lone Traveler

In the distance a beast cries out
Piercing the silence and darkness
Echoes stir those that lie in slumber

A black shape forms over the horizon
Woken by the nights unknown shattering
Listening to all that lay around it

Cautiously it moves forward, nervous
Smelling the air for signs of trouble
Ready to flee is anything’s amiss

The sun rises slowly over the mountains
While the creature advances over plains
Aware of everything in its surroundings

Out of the shadows the beast appears
Teeth ready to tear open raw flesh
Crouching in wait for unsuspected prey

The creature bolts, sensing danger
On legs as swift as the wind
Leaving behind what could have been death

A long time passes over empty land
Before it chooses to slacken pace
Knowing that all is safe once again

Finally arriving at its beautiful destination
The creature begins to relax and feast
Surrounded by familiar harmonious peace
