I put in an unexpected and ironic element on two frat guys watching a football game.
The Fifth Quarter

The blue glow of the TV light
Casting ocean hues on the living room.
Beer bottles on the coffee table,
An open bag of chips close by.

The couch holds them there,
Football fresh on their minds.
Colligate colours adorn them so,
Basking in victory.

The game was deftly played,
The team sharp and skillful
Many times they stood to cheer
Their cushioned seats boxed on the 50

The duo sated from grease and adrenaline,
Sublime in their company and proximity
As one stands to leave, from the other the question is posed
“Would you like to stay?”
