A look back, and a look ahead
Burn the old ties,
Wretch forward the stubborn hands of time,
Unearth my soul from the bullshit and lies,
Let go the chains of older crimes,

This one is on me,
I’ll take the hit, accept the loss, and descend into the fall,
Such a terrible price to pay for something so symbolically free,
You have your piece, but I’ll be damned before I let you have it all,

How much more can you take, if I cast it all away?
If I have no more to give,
Would you try day after day?
To steal no more then the life I live?

Rock bottom was a comfortable sound,
I have spent too much time in a safe place,
Do you see I have picked myself off the ground?
Will you remember the weak when strength has stolen its place?
