Life's little lessons are sometimes painful to learn.
With blessings and love,
there once was a boy.
Who looked at life
as a brand new toy.

It's time to get up,
don't be late.
For today
is a most important date.

"Five more minutes,
can I sleep in?"
No my son
I want you to win.

I tell you now,
it's a beautiful day.
Get up, get up,
be on your way.

"Five more minutes,
please oh please!
I'm begging Daddy
on bended knees."

Ok my son,
when you're ready.
I'll go away
I won't be petty.

One hour later
my son did vault.
He screamed and yelled,
"it's all your fault."

"Quick time
and on the double.
Because of you Daddy
I'm now in trouble."

Listen my son,
I told you twice.
It's up to you,
I was being nice.

This is your lesson,
not mine to learn.
Being in trouble
is what you earn.

Don't blame me
for your actions.
Life will have
many distractions.

You place value
on what you want.
I'm sorry son,
you do look gaunt.

If blaming others
is what you do.
You'll always be sad,
you'll always be blue.

Responsiblity
is the name of this game.
Take it yourself,
you've no one to blame.

Now get dressed
my little man.
Maybe tomorrow
you'll have a better plan.

"Ok Daddy."
