God is the perfect Father.
Abba, Father, cradle now
my weary head that nods and bows.
Gather in this tired soul;
refresh, restore, and make it whole.

Abba, Father, call again
your wand'ring child, lost in sin.
Point me to my Heav'nly home;
take away my bent to roam.

Abba, Father, Heav'nly Dad;
separation makes you sad.
Always, 'tho I try to flee,
you slumber not and still find me.

Abba, Father, sacrifice;
in dying, rising, paid the price.
Desiring not that I should die,
grace for me you did supply.

Abba, Father, Conq'ring King,
it is for you that angels sing.
I, humbled in your presence, bow
and join them in their worship now.

Abba, Father, you desire
a heart that burns with holy fire.
Instill in me compelling love
that testifies to things above.

Abba, Father, before your throne
is due all honor; yours alone.
Yet you did choose to bend your knee,
to scoop me up and cradle me.

Gentle arms received me in,
yet they were strong to deal with sin.
Abba's heir, the Father's child,
received the gift and saw God smile.
