It was all because you were lonely I was only there because you were lonely
It was all because you were lonely
I was only there because you were lonely
Like all the others
I was tempted by your smile
Your warm embrace
I followed blindly
Into your fools games
I became snared in your wicked web
A thousand people
A thousand women
And you chose me
Why did I have to comfort you?
You lonely beast!
Why did I have to be so foolish?
Why am I so foolish?
I didn’t want to be because you were lonely
I wanted to be because I was me
Why did you do this to me
Why didn’t I see
The trick was so old
I must have thought
That its me I couldn’t only be
Because you were lonely
Stupid
Foolish
Me
My mind is girlish and fanciful
Or maybe it is my heart
Something uncurbed by reason and logic
And no matter how many layers
Of ice I bath it in
And no matter how many locks and chains
I wrap and wrap around it

Some how you managed to melt the ice
And find the keys
And some how you brought it back to life

Only because you were lonely
It was all because you were lonely
