The best poem I've ever written. A little morbid, but beautiful.
Items on the dresser,
Memoirs of time.
Walnut, doll, fish-catcher,
Pocket-knife and twine.
Memories engraved in wood,
Secret love and broken gold.
That fragmented, irreparable mind
Wrote empty words in books of old.
A family portrait, faded with time;
The glass is broken, the knot undone.
A blood-stained crest haunts these walls;
The curse fulfilled, retribution hath come.
Within this musty manor,
Many secrets do hide.
Last blood of this most bloody family:
Death by Suicide.
