The calming way of nature
A young girl sat by the window
looking out into the night.
She watched how the rain,
softly, came falling down.

The sky was not dark
nor glittering with stars,
but a blanket of clouds turned grey
as a streetlight lit them from below.

Staring down the road
she felt the raindrops kissing
the window in a soundless,
but beautiful ode.

As they glided down the glass
a trail of pearls were left behind
and she watched them dissapear
into the mystery of the night.

The wind cooed in a muffled voice,
greeting all in it's path.
Making leaves on trees wave back,
excited about their latenight friend..

She got into bed with the song of the wind
allowing the choir of leaves,
branches and twigs to send her
at last into a peaceful sleep...
