for my long lost friend, whom I love dearly,*revised* part 1 of a series
We spent but a moment in time together
It is a day I will remember forever.
Years went by without a word said
Yet thoughts of you still ran through my head.
I would look for you here and there online
Regret for not doing more to make you mine.
An email sent, a reply received
I was happier than I could have believed.
So much had happened, our lives had changed
If only circumstances could be rearranged.
I didn’t know that you had found "The One"
Until she blew it and left you undone.

When you are sad I feel it too
I’d do anything to comfort you.
An email here, a phone call there
I hope you know how much I care.
I dream of a place where time and space
Are suspended and we can be face to face.
A warm hug and a tender kiss
Those are things I really miss.
For all my dreaming one thing is true
Your friendship, to me, is beyond value.

In my heart I wish for more
That someday we could open that door.
I'd love to learn what makes you tick
And to take care of you when you’re sick.
Listen to you vent when you’ve had a bad day
And do what I can to make it go away.
To enjoy the little things everyday
And to finally be able to say....

I love you.
