To Love is To Obey Love

To love is to see, and to hear!
Such wonder! Such simplicity!
Pay attention, and see it
Then see it act. Through you!
When you act, when you move
When you speak, when you sing
Tune in, really see and hear
Something else there moving with you
Something else there in your voice
Nudging you, perhaps
Ever so subtly.

Be allowing, be accepting
The freedom to go this way, that way
Let love do its thing
Let not thinking bar it, or kill it
Let love take the lead instead.
Don't say, That's it, that's me;
Just keep watching and noticing
Listening every moment
Like a mother waiting for
Her child's first word;
Be simply there.

You can then begin to know
What love really is, and
What loving is.
You will find how true it is
That you can do more
With so much less
How there's a breeze
In your very straining, and
How the heavy load lifts!
Not for a cause
Not for another's love;
Just the perfect act
For the perfect moment.

Don't be a thief and take the credit
Don't be a liar and add anything to it
Take the whole moment in
But take nothing with you
Lest you be trapped by what you take
Merely pass by and let pass
The next moment is another world already
Love does, is done
Is all there, in the moment.
So simple, and yet so misunderstood
So light, and effortless
To love is.
