I was bored and was thinking alot, so i decided to write this piece
He stares her in the eye,
as he says his last goodbye.

She grabs his hand and begs him to stay,
But he explains that its too late he must be on his way.

Tears begin to stream down her face,
As he tells her this is not his place.

He wipes away all of her tears,
And in her eyes you can see the fear.

He slowly walks away and waves goodbye,
Never knowing if he will ever come back for another try.

He gets on the bus and heads to his base,
Never forgetting the look on his wifes face.

Then days go by and he heads to war,
And he forgets that he was ever sore.

In action and in battle each day,
Its what he chose this is his way.

Then one day he loses his shield,
And there he lays all alone in the empty field.

Every day his loving wife waits for a letter,
But this time she hoped it would be better.

For she had received the news of her dead man,
There goes all of her plans.

How can she explain to her son that he has no father,
Or should she even bother.

Hopefully it will come soon and it wont be too late,
Because his father had already died before that date.

All alone without the father he never met,
He would have loved him there is no need to bet.

It takes everything in her to keep on going she thought her life was done,
Then comes her loving baby son.
