A love poem by a hopeful romantic
Written January 15, 2007

What is this life we live?
In and out, constantly weaving
Truth and lies for the confusion we give
Never knowing any more, but still believing

The fantasies we create
Always hoping to become real
Forever we procrastinate
To keep our sanity, we steal

Fragments of our fantasies
From out of nowhere, they emerge
Preserving ourselves, through these oddisies
Lost in deception, death is on the verge

The Angel of Death is no one to fear
He comes for thee, he comes for me
We know naught when, but He is near
So I give thine heart to thee

So that I may keep alive
The fantasy I have built
Within that fantasy, I thrive
It keeps me warm, like a quilt

Yearning for the reality
Seeking the Truth amoungst the lie
Wanting your love, not your brutality
Sifting through the lies, I cry

Wilt thou join with me, and become as one?
Fight, protect and honor the love I have given thee
Or let it rot and stink, inside my tomb?
A tomb of torment and misery

Thou is silent, cutting me like a knife
Let me bleed, then, I know it's real
Pity me naught, through my strife
I will survive, to make another appeal

To someone who will stay and love
Shedding the traversities and sorrow
We both have endured and risen above
My love for thee, will be there on the 'morrow

When you go, take me with you, is all I ask
Life alone, is a Hell I didn't request
If thou heart is real, loving me should not be a task
What I offer to thee, is not in jest

Thine heart and soul, I have offered to thee
Whatever thou desires, I shall give freely
A Forever Love, is all I want of thee
The secrets to loving me, are no Mystery
