Sadness is a drop of rain, that never touches the ground...

Sadness is a drop of rain, that never reaches the ground,
Sadness is a cry of pain that echoes all around.
Sadness is a wasted life, a life without the sun,
Sadness is twenty years gone by and never becoming one.

True sunshine is the strangest thing,
There can be a cloudy sky,
But when sunshine really comes,
It comes from you and I,
In a smile, a lingering kiss,
Laughter and a tear,
A golden tear that hits the ground,
And sits awhile, glistening there.

When storms come and go, and go,
Lightning has passed fury through the air,
The grass smells fresh and sweet,
Like the breath of life had floated over there.
And the stone tablets that argue are gone,
And true faith is written there.
Where all believe in the power of rain,
Of water and hidden sun.
Where hopes and fears, our dreams and tears,
Mortal and Spirit here as one.
