car accident in the flash of a moment.
Worriedly I am driving through pouring rain,
Slick roads are splattered with oil,
Curves and sharp turns, unfamiliar area, difficulty staying in my lane.
Suddenly sliding off the road onto the muddy soil.
My car goes straight up and then straight down,
Quickly descending right into a creek,
Just what I needed and I'm in a strange town.
Help I need, cell phone in hand I begin to seek.
Nervous, shaking, head pounding where am I ?
Telling the towing service I really don't know,
About right now I wish I were high.
Instead finally some emotion my tears start to flow.
A cop stops to offer help I am automatically tense,
Looking at the accident my car in water just barely missing a tree,
Whats wrong with me don't I have any sense.
The cop investigates while shinning his flashlight so he can see.
He turns to me and says" two more inches you'd have hit the tree and died",
Praying right then and there out loud thankyou God for sparing us,
Officer Tolliver he says is his name, Have I been drinking? No sir., I lied.
I'll have to call my dad I know he's going to fuss.
Standing there I looked at my car and how close it really was,
Scared beyond explanation uncertain of what was yet to come,
Was all this worth me having a buz.
Right then and there I truly believed I was dumb.
