how we should look forward to what is to come not what has happened and cant be changed.
Looking Back
The sand swirls endlessly in this forbidden land.
The hue of gold whirl around my softly walking feet.
The only green are cacti standing tall and proud
Unaware of the dangers all around.

They look to the horizon never fretting over the past.
Digging their roots down deep in this forbidden land.
They stand.

Their thorns protecting them as they stand on their fateful watch.
And so like them I look ahead never turning back.
For were I to look back again I’d never truly see what matters
Only things that could never be changed.
And so I enjoy what I can of this forbidden land
For life short and wasted enough without us looking back.-
