Sad poem/lyrics, ghost of a soldier watching his wife comiting self harm & suicide.
champagne tears

I see the pale sun arise
a mist before my eyes
I feel the twilight hypnotize
As I cry my silent cries

I see her now in my minds eye
Lying naked in the dark
Drunken and defeated
And life has left its mark

The bloody razors edge
leaves the flesh so pale
The surface scars over
Every scar tells a tale

And in the mornig I was gone

Tonight is the night
One year on
Champagne again
Like we drank then

She thinks of death
lifes pain and fears
and cries alone
her champagne tears

I left her there
That fatefull night
I left to die
My duty and my right

She knew the truth
More than I ever could
I Knew I could not die
She knew I would

So we loved and lost
One final night
An alchoholic haze
Of pure delight

And in the mornig I was gone

Tonight is the night
One year on
Champagne again
Like we drank then

She thinks of death
lifes pain and fears
and cries alone
her champagne tears

I see her now
she can't see me
Cradling last nights bottle
weeping for destiny

Taking the razor in her hand
Fresh scars mark another night
her face looses all expression
and in her eyes I see a light

So many drunken nights
So many bloody scars
So sickend by war and pain and loss
She looks for the end, she no longer cares

And she'll be gone in the morning

Tonight is the night
One year on
Champagne again
Like we drank then

She thinks of death
lifes pain and fears
and cries alone
her champagne tears

She sees the pale sun arise
a mist before her eyes
At last she has no fear
as she cries her final champagne tear.
