Poem about a High Priestess seeing Snow Faeries
We were deep within the wood, snow covered the ground and was gently falling. Overhead the sky was lead grey, it was late afternoon. The high priestess called for complete silence, the wood was now silent, with not a sound to be heard, the snow fell silently. It was now that we all became aware of something else present within the wood, all around us, so much easier to sense, now that the everyday natural sounds were absent. It is at such times that your spirit can for a while leave your body and see the unseen.

Snow Faeries

White crystals shine upon long black hair
deep green eyes from beneath do stare
beneath those eyes she is no longer there
for her spirit flies free in the cold frosty air.

She hears each snowflake as it hits the ground
a crystal clink as it locks to its neighbours near
soft voices call from all around
from just out of sight, but so very near.

Small footprints meander across the ground
footprints that normal eyes will not show
for snow faeries do here abound
that her spirit can now know.

With a rush of breath and a cold bite to the face
her spirit returns to its mortal place
her heart beats loud in the now silent air
her eyes lids flutter, she is now there
