I wrote this when I was mad about the cold in michigan. I wanted warmth, breeze, beauty..
I am a person, flawed
So what for tears?
I asked for enlightened guidance
And in turn received rain
They tell me
Better than drought
My momentum receiving failing grades
And I have gotten nowhere
As for spring
I awaited her
She came as she pleased
I begged her to pardon me
When I cursed her name
For she, no better than
The bitten toes of winter
He fought to keep April
As I watched this spectacle
Waiting for its ending
Applause very necessary
For it caused great entertainment
Dampened leaves
Grey skies
Clouds, never ending
I realized as a raindrop
Dotted my eye
I asked for much
Without an ounce of Faith
To believe in more than material
For what the mind cannot conceive of
I am a person, flawed
Guidance which came through the wind
Told me that I should go the way my heart desired
Feet don’t fail me now
Head lead the way
As the harsh wind begot me, once more
I wish for a young summer
Her youth, hot and fiery
She is to bring a new beginning
Somewhere between
Mosquitoes and hazy humid nights
I’ll find my way
