poem based on a theme in Joy Luck Club. please R&R!
Silence. Such a deafening sound.

Enduring the silence,

Within us.

Between meals, the daily glance,

Did it stand between us.

Silence. A thin thread.

Yet such a thick bond.

A signature of understanding itself.

Nothing had to be saved.

Silence. Through the thin , long thread.

There lies a jigsaw.

Somewhere along the line,

There lies a silken knot.

Binding my thoughts in silence.

Silence. It was deafening.

I needed to break free.

From those red silken handcuffs.

But still, the promise stood.

Silence! Just as it was in her womb,

That shrunken shadow.

Quietly creeping within my flesh.

Biting my heart as I part to eternity.
