MY experiences of dance recitles
5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8
Makeup, hairspray, lastly flowers
We all have been here for several hours
Sparkling costumes glitter in the faint light
I feel so excited; I hope I do alright
Backstage giggles mix with forbidden whispers
“Shhhh,” hiss some of our dance teachers
A techie threatens you with a wrench
You slowly feel yourself unclench
The time has come
Your time to shine
It comes few times each year
Spotlights blind you for a moment
Your fear has now become absent
Music blasts
I think that we’re all are gonna last
Feel the beat
It’s ours to keep
Toothpaste smiles
I’m feeling each new crazy style
Movements start
Sometimes smooth-sometimes sharp
A feeling starts to grow within me
Now that I can really see
I know that I am not the same
Now that I feel my spirit flame
I dare to dream, dare to fly
Dare to think I’ll never die
We move
We grove
We’re all together
I just wish that it could last forever
Hip, hop, to hibiddy, hip, hop
Dance till you drop
The music dies, gives its last call
Thunderous applause ends it all.
