An unfinished poem about 2 loveless partners
Kiss me through the veil of falsehood dear,
Ignorance is the sweetest gift on offer
So hold my frigid body close, lest I tear.
The rice fell and in their hearts was laughter
Yet we both know deep inside that the future’s murder,
For our bodies shan’t stay young forever darlin’
We know what’s awaiting

When the apple first crunched in Eve’s mouth
And she did nigh on everything for her Adam,
She was cast from heaven to toil in pain.
And so we continue the tradition they set
Of loving too much yet not at all together,
Weighing up everything, nothing and all between
We know what’s awaiting

We undress and drown in a sea of needless passion
Before we both cry, never quite knowing why
We do so, we did so, and we’ll do so again.
The Peach-face by our window, stares in and weeps
For two lost souls who drifted far from the flock
But never had the desire to stay or go
We know what’s awaiting

The sun slowly sets in the distant west
As we see two strangers meet and in the street kiss.
The sky pours green down upon our souls and we weep
For never doing the deeds we did,
Yet as the angels cry, and God himself does quiver
We stay sturdy footed, forever almost hugging
We know what’s awaiting
