Fifteen years old: Three more years...!
Three words, and he’s crying.
Three words, and she’s gone.
Gone to her sanctuary; hurry, close the door.
Let no one in, no one to hurt you.
What is this? Tears? No, not here.
Not a chance of glimpsing weakness.
If she doesn’t show it, no one will know it.
All this, and more, in those three words.
Slam! The portal is locked, the walls closing in,
Do not mistake fantasy for reality—
Why hide when the end is so close?

Three years, and he won’t matter.
Three years, and she’ll be gone.
Gone from this place; run, don’t look back.
Tell no one your story, no one to sympathize.
What is wrong? Regret? No, not yet.
Not a chance of blaming herself.
If she doesn’t love, she cannot bleed.
All this, and more, in just three years.
Out! On her own, the walls beaten down,
Do not mistake escape for freedom—
Why let go when you are not your own?
