Seen through Tiny Angel Eyes ~ dreams can thrive once more ~ for Kansaspoet Contest
Silhouettes in a City Park

Words left unspoken, impregnable castles,
Shield silhouettes in a city park sleeping.
Wounded and battered, proud wield they frayed tassels;
Withered hands flail as they fight, though but dreaming.

Far gone in make believe, sips of sweet cider
Ease not the pain, but allow for a moment
Shivers of awe, as the liquid dream molder
Calls forth a vision of life less putrescent.

Vistas unfettered, youth’s visage in respite
Replayed day’s journey through life’s bits and pieces,
Angel eyes weaving hope’s memories tight knit.
Now unbound nightly, they carve age-worn creases.

Fed by hope, dreams bear the voice of true vision.
See them thrive once more through tiny angel eyes.
