Feeling lost
A heart, a string, a song
Where do you look when they are gone?
Lost in a fog, deep in a haze
Looking for color in column day greys.

Walking in hallows with tears in my eye
Wishing on a penny under a Cincinnati sky
Standing on a mountain looking down below
And staring at the moon's wonderous glow

People in places faced with harboring sorrow
Staring at yesterday as if there was no tomorrow
Trembling with the fate that loomed and dropped down
Like a tidal wave smashing as they emotionally drown

Forever and always, past and present
Pain is a constant, king or peasant
A loss is a loss, and the heartstring shatters
And your stead in life no longer matters

Life's saving grace, if there is one to hold
Is that pain is shared, from the weak to the bold
It's held in the hand, and looked on with grey eyes
Weak from the loss, as another soul dies.
