A poem about how depression killed two of my bestfriends
Haunted in the darkness
Torn in the lights of heaven
Betrayed by her sadness
Lost her baby sister who was only eleven
Losing her faith, hating the lord's name
Hurting herself, cutting her shame
Six years later she lays in her grave
A mother's heart broken and a child not saved
Depression kills, Depression controls
What we feel and what we know
Telling Layla's story and what she holds
An extremely wrong choice that her mother chose
Now she's gorwn and feels alone
Just like her mother she died when she was twenty years-old
All of their freidns never got to say goodbye
Before they could save them, they already died
A wish, a prayer, a hope, a cry
Happens all at once as their friends wake up in the still of the night
To them it was a rude awakening to a powerful lesson
Of how so many people lose their lives to strong depression
