This is a poem I wrote after visiting my Grandmother. Who is a wonderful woman.
In you come,

It’s lovely to see you

Take off your coat

Have a seat

You’re looking well.

The kettles on

Now, where is that tea cosy?

A teabag a person and

One for the pot

Let it stew, ten minutes should do.

Have a biscuit

I made that cake yesterday,

It’s not as good as so and so’s

But it will do.

It’s great Granny

Just as I remember.

How’s the family

All doing well.

I was talking to Mrs Henderson, you’ll

Remember her, she used

To work in the store.

She was saying that

Her son’s friend’s daughter

Had a friend who is getting

Married, do you know them?

Here, have some more tea

It’s all right the bairn can have

Another biscuit, one can’t hurt

Here’s another toy, I got for them

Oh, and another book, do they like to read?

It’s been lovely seeing you

See you soon

Take care, love you

It’s never long enough.
