My first attempt at a Shakespearean sonnet.
Each glance and touch sends shudders down my spine
And when you laugh I fall into your eyes;
A crafty smile and open heart divine
You are a contradiction of surprise.

I loved you through the odium of years;
I prayed for you, but gave you only frost.
Your autumn eyes were always far but dear
Until you came the mile, my heart was lost!

And yet you disappoint me with those eyes
They linger on another far too long;
And while I drown my empty soul with cries
You serenade the other with your song.

But when you smile, I forgive and forget
I love you, dear, though it is my regret.
