About a baby and teenage mother
Have you ever felt the touch of baby skin
It is enough to make you melt within
Holding your precious joy in your arms
Cradled there to give share a lot of charms
The identical face of your husband staring back at you
Their tiny hand clinging to your finger to assure they are safe
The big blue eyes, the curly short hair
Soon your baby is tottering along
They think everything you do is wrong
Mine, Mine, Mine is all she can say
All her heart wants to do is play
Baby isn't so small anymore
Schools starts in the fall
No, You can't hold her hand as she walks down the hall
The harsh years of talk back are soon too arrive
She has turned 14, how will you survive
Boys are all that matter now
The phone is her third ear to remove it, no one knows how
Sweet sixteen
The car speeds by
Your baby is one behind the wheel
Where has the time gone and what is the deal
Graduation is tonight
Her beauty takes away your sight
What has happened to your baby girl
The one who always gave her dress a twirl
She has gone away to a far away school
Let's hope she isn't a fool
She comes back with a gold band
Clutching to his hand
Can you give her away
The aisle seems too short for dad
He recalls all the precious moments he had
A kiss on the cheek for good luck
Walking through those hospital doors
Just got the news
You walk in holding a Winnie the Pooh
You see her sitting there
Clutching to pride and joy
Your baby girl with a bright warm smile
Holding her baby for the very first trail
Your job is done
Hers has just begun
