A poem about how insanity settles in.
I shake from the weight of their stares,
With anger and humility,
Yet no one really cares.

My knees go weak
When someone has the nerve to talk to me,
In this world so cold and bleak.

A light within me buds
and grows to unfathomable heights,
From simple kindness that sets my heart a flood.

Thoughts sprouted in my mind
Of how I could be free of ridicule.
But mercy such as that is hard to find.

The best of days will come to pass,
If I can just hold on
To my sanity like a good Bonnie lass.

Now I know it was all in my head.
I guess I proved those haters right.
I'm still crazy just like they said.

I know now that it was but an illusion.
Thats why I'm sitting here in the institution
