When you decide the friendship is over? Or not worth the trouble anymore? What do you say?
I just wanted to let you know,
I don’t need you.
I thought we were friends . . .
I thought you wanted
To get to
Know me.
Lately however it’s like whenever
I see you, you smile and make
Some excuse to run off quickly.
Maybe I’m wrong,
Maybe it’s just me.
But when this happens
Over
And
Over
Again
I begin to wonder.
Now you seem
To be interested
In “Let’s go do something
Sometime.  Give me a call.”
I’m sorry but it’s
Too late now.
Maybe I’m being childish and
Immature.  It won’t be the
First time someone has
Called me that.
I am only saying
I am tired of the
Rejection
That I keep getting
From you.
Do you plan to just
String me along
Until it’s convenient for you
To say oh, well, I
Was never really
Friends with you in the first place.
So I’ll say it first,
I don’t need you
To pretend to be my
Friend.
