A sweet poem about wanting to be wanted
My heart's great wish is not for your love.
I already have that, my dear.
My deepest dream is not your heart.
For the key is in my own hand.
I want to taste of your longing.

I remember that lovely day.
You threw your arms around my neck.
You smothered me with your kisses.
Joy shone in your deep blue eyes.
I want to see your jubilation.

Desire for me sprang from your heart.
It pooled there to spill over me.
Your voice sparkled with our love.
You whispered your love to me.
I want to hear your happiness.

Perhaps it is selfish of me,
Demanding that your love be shown.
But I need you to desire me.
I miss the love you used to show.
I need to feel your love for me.
